Need Someone to Listen?
The MRRCT is designed to support the community by providing professional and culturally responsive on-site intervention. Our services include outreach, de-escalation, stabilization, resource connection, and follow-up support for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

What is a Crisis?
A mental health crisis occurs when thoughts, feelings, or actions prevent a person from engaging in regular activities. It can feel overwhelming and may involve thoughts of self-harm or harming others. A crisis can happen to anyone, even those without a mental health diagnosis.

Examples of When to Call MRRCT:

  • Suicidal or Homicidal Thoughts
  • Active Psychosis (organic or substance-induced)
  • Assistance with voluntary in-patient psychiatric hospitalization
  • Severe distress indicated by mental health measures (e.g., PHQ-9, BDI)
  • Disruptive behaviors in schools
  • Dementia-related symptoms in older adults
  • Frequent 911 callers with suspected behavioral health issues
  • Support for individuals/families after a death
  • Deescalating frantic parties at car accidents

Difference Between a Mental Health Emergency and a Crisis:

  • Mental Health Emergency: A life-threatening situation where someone is a danger to themselves or others (e.g., active suicide attempt). Call TPD at 360-716-9911.
  • Mental Health Crisis: A non-life-threatening but severely distressing situation. Call MRRCT at 360-502-3365.
