Litonya Egawa was born in Washington state and is a Lummi Tribal member. She attended the University of Washington where she earned her BS in Psychology. While studying at Bastyr University in the Naturopathic doctorate program, she discovered Chinese Medicine. Deciding to change her studies, she earned her Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine from the NW Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2003. Her intention had always been to work with a native community, and her goal was realized when she found a home at Tulalip. Litonya has been working as an Acupuncturist for the Tulalip Tribes for going on 14 years. Her goal is to provide services for acute, chronic and preventative care, and to improve the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of the community she serves.
