Director of Patient Support

As the Director of Patient Support at the Community Health Building, Tara Bourdukofsky brings a profound legacy of leadership and advocacy to the forefront of patient care. A seasoned executive with over two decades of service, Tara has been a cornerstone of the Aleut Board since 2002, where she has shaped organizational policy and fiscal health as Vice-Chair, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Her extensive governance experience extends to her roles with The Aleut Foundation and the Alaska Trust Company, reflecting a career-long dedication to the growth and stability of Alaska Native communities.

Tara’s professional journey is rooted in a deep understanding of human services and holistic wellness. Before assuming her current role, she served as the Director of Cultural & Educational Services for the Alaska Native Heritage Center and spent 12 years as the Human Services Director for the Aleutian Pribilof Island Association. In this capacity, she oversaw a diverse portfolio of social, educational, and workforce development programs, ensuring that community services remained both accessible and impactful. In 2019, Tara further expanded her influence by founding TIXLAX LLC, a wellness-coaching and leadership-development firm dedicated to empowering individuals through culturally resonant coaching strategies.

Her approach to leadership is informed by both academic excellence and elite athletic achievement. Tara holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Alaska Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. It was during her time at UH Hilo that Tara’s leadership skills were forged on the national stage; as captain of the volleyball team, she led her squad to multiple National Championships, an experience that instilled in her the discipline and collaborative spirit she brings to the healthcare environment today. Born in San Francisco and raised on St. Paul Island, Alaska, Tara combines clinical expertise with a lifelong commitment to her heritage, ensuring that patient support is as compassionate as it is strategic.
