Dr. Foster-Schubert obtained her M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins and her M.P.H. degree from the University of Washington. Her current research projects focus on identifying hormonal and physiological factors that predict successful weight loss maintenance after diet and exercise. She is also investigating the impact of varying dietary energy density on body weight regulatory hormones and appetite. Additionally, she is working on developing a new imaging method to measure the parameters of hypothalamic regulation of body weight in humans.
